Idenification of material

Postby Solange882 » Fri May 11, 2018 9:56 pm

Hello again: This is today's last question. I was wondering what this inro is made of. It doesn't really look like ivory and I am hoping it isn't, but I'm not sure. Thanks for your opinions...and any other comments you'd like to make. .

I know you are not asking anyone to read the name Hakuunsai 白雲齋 plus Kao 花押, but if you follow that name you may find what material the artist liked to work with. (I agree that there are strong indications of some kind of ivory.)

Size is something.

Good idea. I will check my books. And while I did have the name of the artist, I am happy to have your confirmation of the name. Thank you.
