I notice you have a knot to stop him sliding off the string. Is it attached to anything?

It is not attached to anything unfortunately. I can only imagine what the larger composition might have been.

The function of an Ojime is to slide, yes, but also to close down the top of an inro or purse, so it needs to be on a thicker string, or for you to double/triple/quadruple the string so that the Ojime stays holding happily where you set it.

Welcome, Thomas1! I really like your silver ojime as well. I especially like the playful nature of this monkey. Dressed in his cute little wrap, he is hanging on in a way that suggests he has been swinging and having a great time! Very sweet! Thanks for sharing him~
