That is a really nice inro Alan and looks to be in very good condition. Interesting to see so many 'in-the-style-of-Korin' inro around. It clearly was a popular style of decoration. May I ask if the inside is in matt gold lacquer or nashiji?

It's matt gold on risers but red interior. Other side I'll show when back home.

Here's the other side (if you couldn't guess the style this side tells you!) and a similarly photographed one of the side already shown. The third view of the interior reveals residue of possibly a powdered medication.

Thanks for posting the extra photos of your inro Alan and my apologies for not commenting before now as I had overlooked it. It's a fine example of this type of inro. I may now look out for other examples.

Jordi, I like your two new pieces--especially the first one you posted in May. It is lovely with a different texture and matching netsuke? Very nice! Alan I like yours too!! Happy Birthday, by the way! Hope you are having a great day..

Most beautiful thread here!
Thanks for sharing and educating us.

Referring to Jordi's post, higher in this thread, commenting on a couple of other pieces in his collection displaying outstanding lacquer-work, to the effect that showing those pieces might be outside the scope of this Forum - respectfully suggesting to the Mod Team, so that we can all expand our knowledge, to consider adding an additional section for lacquer-work which may, strictly fall outside the scope of the section for Sagemono.

Thanks, Judy. Actually my inro is rather low end and bought for the netsuke.
