Some lovely Inro, little bit disappointed by the quantity and quality of some the Netsuke.

I think, in Bonhams defence, they usually have a named collectors sale, and then a Japanese fine art auction.

On this occasion they have a named collection that is focused on lacquer, not netsuke. A beautiful one at that. I assume you have the catalogue, a real keeper!

We might feel hard done by, but don't forget Van-Ham has an absolutely explosive action packed December event for the collectors, and shortly after Bonhams return with some cracking Katchen pieces for the May sale.

I assume the normal suspects like Rosey and Max will set up shop over Asia week as well. Never disappointed with what they have on offer.

Saving is the problem, not buying. There's enough to keep us all happy :)

Always another sale on the horizon to save for lol. Looking forward to handling the Van-Ham offering.

The Misumi catalogue is an absolute stunner. Some of the Inro are out of this world, cant wait to take a good look at those.

Sydney L. Moss Ltd

The infamous juggernaut that is the Moss brand, will be hosting a specialised exhibition entitled "All Creatures Medium-Sized and Tiny". Netsuke will of course be included - but with a focus on lacquer sagemono, and a rumour there will be a number of Zeshin works of art available. This exhibition will be hosted at;

Monday - Friday 10.00 - 17.30
Saturday, 4 November closed
Sunday, 5 November closed

Max Rutherston

Max is away for the early part of Asia week, however he will become available from Wednesday 8th. The establishment will remain open the Monday and Tuesday from 8am until 2pm, perhaps a little later by appointment with Dayle Farrell, dayle@rutherston.com.

Hope to see some of you around London over Asia week :)
