Toad

Postby onimh » Thu Oct 12, 2017 1:20 am

A new one for my collection.
Yoshiyuki? Any help with the signature would be appreciated.
A chunky 45mm long, 9mm high.
They seem to be breeding.

Shigetada (or Yoshitada). Echizen province. See MCI page 734. Nice find!

Thank you very much Dave.
I don't have access to MCI. Is there any chance you can post me a picture of that page? It would be most appreciated.
Funny, Yoshitada was my original first pick for the signature but I went with Yoshiyuki.
Also, this was much better than a find; a gift from my sister!!!

Thank you Jan.
Lazarnick lists him under Shigetada

Here's one that I bought with the signature translated as Shige. No Shige was listed in Lazarnick so I looked a little deeper, into different readings of the same kanji.
I'm going with JU on this one. Anyone disagree? Comments?
