Dave, yes, it does not open and I cannot see any other way the artist would have set them together like that. Yours reminded me of mine. There must have been an accepted way of making these, with an external swivel loop.

Judy, no, not particularly small. Average manju size?

Martyn, it was attached to an Inro that I must have got back after I last saw you. It seemed unhappy tied up, so I gave it some freedom! You can see it in a few weeks from now. :)
