Few newcomer

Not long ago I bought few new pieces.
I am not find yet the signatures. The helping line are faster.
Any help welcome.

Hello Peter, your first is Juraku 寿楽 +Kao (see MCI), also check Jurakusai, and the second is Hosui 法水 (can be found in MCI and Reikichi). :)

I find also in MCI p932 lower left a similarity JUYEI or Toshinaga .
This reason difficoult the identification.few pics the netsuke, maybe helpfull.
Nice details, well carved. The wood dark red stained.

Peter, thanks for the new photographs.

No, it does not look like 壽永 Toshinaga/Juei. The second character is closer to 楽 (raku or gaku).

(By the way, 'Juyei' is the old Victorian Romanization, often used by early Western collectors, but not used today, like 'Yedo' for Edo, or 'Kwaidan' for Kaidan!)

Peter, whoever the carver, this is a lovely netsuke with beautiful details. The finish to the wood is exquisite, and I love the deep tone of it. Congrats!
