Cologne Convention - Contemporary Carvers Evening

Postby Clive » Mon Mar 20, 2017 7:46 pm

Dear Carving Colleagues,

With the Cologne convention only a few months away, some exciting arrangements for a "Carvers meet Collectors Evening" are currently being developed. If you are a carver attending the convention and would like to participate in such an event please reply to this thread or email me privately so that numbers can be determined and participation coordinated. All are welcome.

Kindest regards,
Clive

I'm pleased to hear an evening event with the comtemporary carvers is being worked on. After hearing the dealer room was full I hoped an alternate arrangement might be made for contemporary carvers including the possibility that some carvers might help man a dealers booth in trade for display space and public exposure.

I heard from Harald Hayen today- he goes by the name of Hako- from Germany. He cannot attend the conference but would be very interested in having 3 of his carvings sent to a surrogate who is attending, for display purposes during the Carvers Event. I've got emails out to other German, Dutch and French carvers and await replies.

Doug.. just to clarify.

I know I said.. "All are welcome" but the "Carvers Evening" is reserved for carvers who actually are registered Cologne convention attendees.

I am delighted to announce that Lempertz, one of the oldest and most respected auction houses in Europe.. https://www.lempertz.com/en/about-us/history.html has very kindly offered to host the "Carvers Evening" on Wednesday 7th June from 6.00pm until 8.00pm in their wonderful gallery. It promises to be a great night what with the event becoming the meeting place for all those planning on joining the revelry that Martyn's has just announced here..
