Dear netsuke lovers,

I´m new on this forum and these are my first steps of contributing.

As already mentioned by other members the handling session in Geneva was really exiting and a great opportunity to look at very special netsuke. But first of all I want to thank Petra Dorman for her engagement making this event possible and so successful. She did a great and wonderful job.

Attached you will find several pics of our meeting and some of the beautiful netsuke we were able to handle and study without latex gloves about which we were extremly happy, especially Martyn.

I personally felt in love with the Kaigyokusai monkey with young. The facial expression of the little snoozing ape and the composure of its parent are so marvellous and radiate a sense of deep calm and peace. No artist can put more emotions in such a tiny piece. That´s why I´m adoring these miniature sculptures and I´m sure all of you.

During the meeting we had a funny time together and the mix of group members was absolutely perfect and harmonious.

So I´m looking forward to joining other meetings, hopefully next up in London. I hope you enjoy the pictures even if the quality sometimes leaves a bid to be desired.

Please tell us the story behind the picture in the restaurant and why are there netsuke on the table? It looks like it was a fun and interesting night. It must have been wonderful handling these little masterpieces. I am very happy for all of you and your museum visit. One day I hope to have a visit something like this!
