Hi everybody,

I know absolutely nothing on this matter;

Could anyone help me to identify this object belonging to my old mother :

About 30 centimeters long - a father and his baby welcoming 5 other children ?

Is it a netsuke or something else ?

What does the characters represent ?

There is a signature on the back.

Thanks for everything you could teach me.

Best regards

Hello Laurent

The object is maybe an okimono, but it's too big to be a netsuke.

In my opinion it's a modern work. It maybe shows men and kids who play a game. Unfortunately I can't read the signature.

Hi Laurent! This is not a netsuke, but an ivory souvenir okimono - a larger kind of carving. It may have more sentimental value to you, than may be worth for some other collector. I hope you like it.
