Book signing, any interesting examples?

Postby chonchon » Mon May 23, 2016 8:21 am

Some time ago I bought the English translation of Ueda Reikichi's Netsuke Handbook.

Inside the front cover I discovered this. Does anyone else have any famous Netsuke collectors' signatures?

I have got the 'Netsuke: A Comprehensive Study Based on the M.T. Hindson Collection', signed by Neil Davey. Will scan and post it later.

Excellence in netsuke art don't need signature or pedigree, or age, only quality, aesthetics, beauty.

Good topic, Piers.
Taking book collecting in this field to another level.

In London, Andy Jordan showed me the two volume Laz, signed by Laz, to Bernie Hurtig, thanking Bernie for all his help in compiling the treatise. Wish I had photographed the inscription.

That sound of pages rustling, is all of us going through our libraries, looking for autographs and inscriptions!

Time to (re)check the first pages of my books. ;)

I am sure at least I have a Alain Ducros dedicated book and probably some others too.
