Maybe you should have painted it with Rustoleum. :lol:
I find you playing with various finishes very interesting. (But i might prefer more tradional Japanese subjects)

Fascinating Raux, is an extreme representation. if we time travel taking a Netsuke Shi into our time and put him to work what would he carve?, a broken basket, a sandal, a hammer, a pipe, a fan, minimal daily objects frequently represented in Netsuke art, what would be today? Probably a rusted mechanic piece? if it can be properly used Why not? If we add a Daymo in the scene would he sit in a shadow saloon with his friends opening the box and running his fingers carefully in admiration over the carving? Your work is beautiful and brave.
