Henrik and other beginning collectors, we would like to provide you with a fun little exercise :

There is one NLO Shoki in this one ... which one ?

Have fun and please do not hesitate to ask further guidance of our members ...

Jan,
I think (guess) the goat on the top right is genuine and the shoki with the climbing boy is a fake. But hard to just with a small photo.

You're right regarding the shoki. But no cigar on the goat. Try again ;)

Morning Piers. Henrik went with the top right goat.

Quite right Piers. Thanks for pointing this out. For some reason, on first glance, I read Henrik's post as a self depreciating statement about his own eyes! I think all the driving this weekend destroyed my brain, and ironically, it is my eyes that should be called into question |(

Martyn,
But, not so bad for an amateur? I’ve only studied netsuke for only one year and have a feeling that I’m on the right way. Most of the handled netsuke appeard to be NLOs. The collection grows more slowly now with
an eye looking more for details, hopefully the genuine.
Piers, thanks for your support.

Hi Henrik,

I'm interested to know, for no other reason than curiosity; what specifically do you consider study during the past year?
