All I am saying is that it is as legal now, as it was before to import antique ivory into the US, though it must be more troublesome and usually not worth the effort.

Pardon my ignorance: But if somebody in the US did buy an ivory netsuke in the upcoming Katchen sale - wouldn't this require a UK CITES export pemit AND a US CITES import permit? At least this is how it works here in Norway. For the two netsuke I have boght from Neil and Max in London it took about...
