For me it seems authentic from the later period. Highly painted and not used.
But this made a good hand master not finished well. the hand, leg and fingers rough.

The signature are Masatsugu.
But not the big Kaigykusai master. For me authentic from the later period. Lot of carver using this name .
The eyes inlay from dark horn.

Not so compact as the oni figure (because easy cracking , using a hanging position on the obi)
But globally talanted hand made.

Hello, This piece very similar as I have bought for tourist suvenir 20 years ago in Bangkok. Price 5-20 usd in the "exellent "antic shop. It is made for tourist from ironwood and the signature simple cracking or put a small round bone plug with red letters and the forma coming from old pie...
