Just received a whole 'library' of books on the subject of Netsuke. The most interesting item: the first edition of 'Netsuke' by F.M. Jonas, printed in 1928, and signed by the author (with dedication to Admiral Sir Howard Kelly):

The ivory one, signed Masanao, is part of my collection. Of course the signature might or might not be authentic, but regardless - I like the little sparrow (an indeed its story - here are a few versions: http://www.pitt.edu/~dash/sparrow.html) very much. And... I like the new addition to your colle...
