You might be correct in principle , Greg, about the economical drive to produce fakes by good contemporary carvers. However, Natasha Popova specifically is a very good carver in her own right, and I am sure that she would never produce ‘old’ looking fakes. I have recently seen an octopus okimono car...

Saw a YouTube clip of a toad gobbling up a worm, Alan. Looks too gruesome for the forum, so I'll just keep the Masanao toad vegetarian, or perhaps vegan ;) .
