Re: Euronetsuke Fest 2018: 11th - 13th May 2018

Hi Guys - sorry for the absence past few weeks. Life has thrown me just about every curve ball one could imagine. Fortunately for this coming weekend, I still have my health and I'm looking forward to catching up with all tomorrow. A few last minute reminders; Friday If you are in the morning sessio...

Re: Our dear friend LUBlub

Dear Lucia, we are touched and honoured by your presence. You keep Luigi's memory alive. Luigi fondly talked of your own interest and passion in netsuke. We cannot thank you enough for the love, care and dedication you gave to him and us. I will always think of you as "Luigi's Angel". You ...

Joseph, if you read this please do the potential next buyer a favour, and remove it from eBay. Keep it as memory of what is dear to you, and a link to your family :)

Re: Hare with Amber Eyes

As Doug already hints, this is a modern copy of the famous hare with the Amber eyes. Nothing wrong with modern carvings, but copies trying to replicate a famous model should always fire off alarm bells. Plenty of other materials that could be used. How modern ivory still gets in ebay is beyond me. I...

Re: Identifying inherited netuske couple

Please forgive my light hearted edit. After seeing your post above I just couldn't shake Family Guy from my mind. We may have found Chris's true mother!

Is it perhaps blocks were cut using a fixed tool in the measurements you describe before they hit the lathe? Although, this still dosn't...
