Do you know which O-hara that is John? There are many around Japan, including a famous one in north-east Okayama Prefecture where Miyamoto Musashi was said to have been born.

You might well be right! It was something about the length of the snout and its facial expression, and the human pose, suggesting impending shape-shifting, but only a feeling, nothing more. Thanks for the information about the tail! :)
